Do we need a new plate warmer? Aren't there numerous variations on this theme already available? Not quite. "During my many years in the gastronomy and catering business I often had to deal with plate warming cupboards which were too big or too heavy. It meant that we seldom used them. The result was always the same: cold plates, food which got cold too quickly and a rather 'cool' atmosphere amongst the guests", explains Dieter Lampe, the experienced chef and managing director of Caterers friend.
Thus the idea was born to design a plate warmer which was a practical and reliable alternative to conventional plate warming cupboards. The device had to be very versatile, simple to use and provide heating space for a variety of plates and cups. In short, a completely new system had to be devised. |
